        We have a Toxin Cleansing Diet to share with you and some basic principals.  It is recommended that you try it for 3 to 7 days. Doing this for a short time is better than NO time. Try doing this diet every 1 to 3 months.  It does wonders to clean out the toxins in the liver. Eventually you may find you're feeling so much better, you'll probably incorporate more of these foods in your daily routine.

It is very simple. Breakfast is simply Vegetables and Greens or Fruits! The more green foods you add to your diet, the better you'll feel. (Helps to clean the liver, which is your "garbage filtering can"). Lunch is a vegetable salad with an assortment of different vegetables or some fruit, while supper consists of a raw vegetable salad followed by some healthy cooked food. Carrot or apple juice, or raw carrots and celery or other vegetables (without dips or salad dressings) is a good in between meal snack.  Try to follow a ratio of 85% raw and 15% cooked food each day, with the cooked food usually coming only at the end of the day during the evening meal. If you have a very sensitive digestive system you may want to lightly steam your vegetables, this way it is not as difficult on the digestion.  Consider drinking the juice of your steamed vegetables. You must remember to drink purified water throughout the day as water pulls toxins out of the cells. 

        We have become dehydrated from the use of all the "junk foods and beverages" we put into our bodies. The longer a person can stay on this diet, the more they will cleanse and nourish their body. Many practitioners suggest 7 to 10 days, I suggest you do what you can in the beginning and each time you start a new program try to go a little longer until you are automatically eating more vegetables on a daily basis. Foods To Be Avoided

        White Flour, Sugar, Hydrogenated Fats, Aspartame Sweetener, MSG (monosodium glutamate): These foods are what create most of the negative physical problems we experience, and are not a part of a "Healthy Diet".  Stay away from "processed foods" foods that contain preservatives and have a lengthy ingredient list filled with additives, they contain empty calories; you are eating dead food.  They should be eliminated from the diet as quickly as possible.

Bowel Cleansing
Keeping the bowels clean and moving is crucial in the elimination of toxins, especially those processed by the liver. [The liver dumps in to the bowel via the gall bladder.]  In severe cases, enemas and colonics may be needed to breakup and wash out long-standing bowel encrustations. Diet may do the same thing as an enema or colonic, it will just take longer. Constipation is a national pastime today. People ate better 100 years ago, didn’t eat the processed foods that we eat today, and they were more active.  When the bowels slow down, toxins are not eliminated as quickly, and are reabsorbed and carried back to the liver for recycling and elimination. Reabsorbed bile salts have been linked to increased cholesterol levels; therefore, cholesterol is a major indicator of constipation. Also, when the bowels get slow and toxin levels increase, the pathogenic microorganisms grow to out-number the normal flora causing dysbiosis.  Although flora is needed to correct this, it is the clogged bowels that are the major problem. When bowels start moving properly, everything else will fall into order. 

The easiest way to get the bowels moving is by using a high fiber diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables.  One may add extra fiber during the day by drinking a glass of water (juice) with our Stabilized Rice Bran, psyllium husk powder or flax powder. The extra fiber adds to the bulk of the stool and decreases the bowel transit time, which means better toxin elimination and better health.  It makes sense that if one can eliminate toxins their health will improve. 

Herxheimer Reaction

To minimize the Herxheimer Reaction:

If the Herxheimer reaction occurs, cut back on your health detoxification program. Reduce the dose of your program. The more toxins there are to eliminate, the sicker one is when they come out. Detoxification through diet may produce symptoms of headaches, nausea, malaise and vomiting due to the toxins being released [Herxheimer Reaction].         The use of enzymes in detoxification is important, not only for digestion, but also for detoxification.  Enzymes are best obtained from fresh raw fruits and vegetables, but may be taken daily with meals as nutritional supplements of multi-digestive enzymes. Enzymes in our food helps us to digest that food. While the body has a homeostatic mechanism that maintains a constant pH 7.4 in the blood, this mechanism works by depositing and withdrawing acid and alkaline minerals from other locations including the bones, soft tissues, body fluids and saliva. Therefore, the pH of these other tissues can fluctuate greatly. The pH of saliva offers a window through which you can see the overall pH balance in your body. Likewise a pH value of less than 6.8 to 7.0 is turning acidic and a pH value of more than 7.0 is turning alkaline.

Testing the Body’s pH (Acid/Alkaline) Level

The human body functions best in a slightly alkaline environment. The optimum alkalinity varies in different parts of the body: The blood and tissues want to be slightly alkaline; the lower bowel, slightly acid; urine, slightly acid to neutral; saliva varies. Urine and saliva pH (acid alkaline measurement) can be easily checked and can be a somewhat accurate indicator. The most accurate measurement of the pH balance in the body is blood pH.

Today there are many sources recommending the measurement of urine and saliva pH using paper strips that change color according to the amount of acid in the fluid. The dilemma has been that every source seems to recommend a different optimal pH range for both urine and saliva, and levels fluctuate during any 24-hour period.

According to Robert O. Young, Ph.D., D.Sc., the normal pH range for Saliva is 6.8-7.2, but it can range between 6.0 and 7.2. It is best to test saliva at least two hours after eating or drinking any fluids—first morning saliva is probably easiest.

The normal pH for urine is 6.8-7.2 but can range from 4.5-8.0. The urine pH will normally be lowest in the morning and peak in the evening.

Checking pH can be a useful tool for someone who wishes to assess the general pH balance of the body as a preventive tool, and can be especially key to someone who is ill with cancer or any other health challenge. It can also be used to verify results of an alkalizing program over time.

If saliva and/or urine pH are consistently outside the normal range, it is best to address this issue through nutritional supplementation and dietary changes—and to assess other lifestyle habits. See a healthcare practitioner if there are health concerns. In our own body tissues, the pH range is from .1 (stomach acid) to 9.0 (pancreatic juices). The middle pH value of 7.0 is considered to be neutral (not acid or alkaline). The bloodstream has a range of 7.2 to 7.45 and is slightly on the alkaline side.
